We know you have options when it comes to family dentistry, which is why we want to do everything we can to help you feel more confident in your decision. Part of this process is being able to answer questions about our office in Hayward, the services we offer, and about general dental care. Below, we’ve compiled some responses to our most frequently asked questions, and we encourage you to call us if you do not see yours listed below.

Are six-month dental checkups and teeth cleanings necessary?

Yes, you will need to keep your regularly scheduled six-month dental appointments to avoid many of the most common oral health problems such as dental decay, cavities, and gum disease. Much of the plaque and tartar that accumulate on teeth cannot be removed by traditional toothbrushes and toothpaste. Instead, professional instruments are required to keep teeth and gums cavity- and disease-free throughout the year.

Will you see my child at your dental office?

Yes! We are a family-friendly dental practice that sees children 12 years of age and older. We know this time in their life brings a lot of changes, especially when it comes to their oral and facial development. This is why our team is here to monitor their growth and any changes that might arise. Should we detect any problems throughout the year, we will administer appropriate treatment as a way to mitigate future issues once they reach adolescence and adulthood.

Will I need to see an outside specialist for dental implants?

While we do offer dental implant restoration, we do partner with local implant specialists when it is time for a patient to undergo dental implant surgery. This ensures that you receive optimal care so that your dental implants remain firmly in place over time. Once you’re fully healed, we will take care of securing your dental crown or bridge in place.

How can I know if cosmetic dentistry is right for me?

To know whether cosmetic dentistry is right for you, you’ll need to schedule a consultation with Dr. Diep. This visit will allow him to review your smile and determine the severity of your tooth flaws. If you struggle with tooth chips, cracks, stains, discoloration, minor gaps, misshapen teeth, minor misalignment, or slight overcrowding, we can recommend treatment options that will work to improve your appearance. But before any services are provided, we will go over your medical history and the status of your oral health to determine if you first need preparatory care (i.e., gum disease treatment).

I’m dealing with a dental emergency. What should I do?

The first step is to call our office and let us know about the injury. Based on the situation, we will work to get you in on the same day for immediate care. A member of our team will deliver first-aid tips that you are welcome to use while at home. Depending on the type of injury, you’ll be encouraged to take an over-the-counter pain reliever to minimize discomfort. Once in our office, we will begin the process of addressing your injury as quickly as possible.

Will you accept my dental insurance?

Yes, we welcome most PPO dental insurance plans and look forward to helping you maximize your dental benefits. We know this process can be cumbersome for many patients, which is why we want to alleviate the stressful burden it can cause. We’ll file claims and paperwork on your behalf as well as go over additional ways you can save throughout the year.
